Week 9

Merry Christmas! I hope everyone is having a great Christmas season filled with joy with the coming of Our Savior! What a wonderful Christmas! God has definitely given us something to be especially thankful for this year...being together as husband and wife and expecting our first child. What an amazing gift! Last week, Thomas and I spent Christmas with my family in NH. It was so relaxing and enjoyable to be with my parents again and to see most of my sisters and their families after almost 4 months! It was such a great time going out in the neighborhood caroling, relaxing at home by the fire, sipping "cuppas", chatting and surprising my parents with a retirement party. Thomas and I are very much looking forward to our next visit in June where we'll be staying with my parents at a rental beach house in Plymouth for a week. By that point, I'll be quite further along in my pregnancy and that includes my stomach. ;)

Week 9
Size of baby: Kumquat
Cravings: Cranberry juice
Food Aversions: Meat and pretty much anything that is in our apartment
Symptoms: Restlessness, sensitivity to smells, fatigue and nausea...week 9 has been the worst with nausea!

Pregnancy Announcement!

Thomas and I are very happy to announce that we are expecting our first child!!! We couldn't be happier and are even more complete as we are now a family. God works in such magnificent ways! I will always be amazed by Him. We may have had our patience tested by waiting a few months, but God planned it out wonderfully that way! Thomas had surgery in November and took the whole month off of work since he was sick in bed with 3 different infections! I felt so badly for him being cooped up at home, hardly able to move and in so much pain. Being a stay at home wife, I was able to take care of him. Now that he is back on his feet, I am now resting at home with occasional morning sickness and he is taking good care of me around the clock whenever I need him. Looks like God planned things out perfectly (as He always does!) and was taking care of us both by working through one another to help eachother. This is something that I would not have been able to do all that well if I got pregnant right off and going through morning sickness while he needed my care. Thank you God for taking care of us and for doing what you knew was best! Thomas told me something one night when I was worried, something that'll always stick with me; "Don't ask for something that isn't in God's plan for us yet! He might let it happen and it wouldn't end up being a good thing." How true! God has a reason for His every plan.

So, I thought it would be fun to start a blog as a way to record my developments throughout the pregnancy and keep my family and friends up to date as well.

Week 8
Due date: August 1st
Size of baby: A raspberry
Symptoms: Fatigue, restlessness, short of breath and always hungry! Lol Although, however hungry I may be, I have such an aversion to food that it becomes a chore to eat anything. I also have come down with a cold this week, so I think my body is working overtime! I just wrapped some Christmas gifts and I feel like I just ran a marathon! ;)
Cravings: To be quite honest, I don't really have any big cravings. I just eat whatever sounds appealing at the time. Right now, nothing sounds appealing! The food that I can tolerate the most is PB&J and banana boats (bananas slice in half with peanut butter and raisins on top).
Food Aversions: Ground beef and green bean casserole....bleghhhh

               No bump yet!
